China Unicom is showcasing its latest achievements in areas spanning 5G, the internet of things, and smart housing at the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) 2019, which opened on Nov 13 in Shenzhen. 

A 5G remote ultrasonic diagnosis and treatment project co-built by China Unicom, Shenzhen Wisonic Medical Technology Co Ltd, and Peking University Shenzhen Hospital is being displayed. Grassroots doctors can start remote consultations with doctors from 3A-grade hospitals, the highest of China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals, with portable color ultrasounds.  

The project has allowed people to access high quality medical service without travelling far and has offered a solution to unbalances in the distribution of medical resources.  

A special area for smart housing has been set up in China Unicom's exhibition booth, displaying several smart control scenarios spanning communication, education, security, lighting, and home appliances.  

China Unicom has been devoting continuous efforts to expand the layout for 5G application scenarios and its terminal products, aiming to promote the development of 5G technology in China.
