What other emerging technologies will people see in the future? This topic was discussed at the 2022 China Hi-Tech Forum, which took place during the 24th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) in Shenzhen, Guangdong province from Nov 15 to 19.
There are three typical computing power systems: traditional numerical supercomputing systems (HPC), AI computing systems, and big data processing systems. According to Zheng Weimin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and a professor at Tsinghua University, the convergence of these three types of systems will be the inevitable result of market development.
Zhang Yaqin, a CAE academician and a chair professor at Tsinghua University, said at the forum that AI and IoT will play an important role in achieving carbon neutrality goals. Through intelligent perception, heterogeneous data from multiple dimensions can be integrated, and an AI engine can be built to conduct an in-depth analysis of data. This will realize data-driven intelligent decision-making, hence comprehensively optimizing the resource allocation in industrial chains.
Domestic GPU will usher in a rare development opportunity, said Jiang Jinghua, chief technology officer (CTO) of Siroywe.
At present, GPU has two major functions: one is to use powerful graphics engines to render graphics videos; the other is to handle various AI calculations such as neural networks or machine learning, stated Jiang. "As we are moving into an era of visualization before everything, visualization requires a lot of high-performance image processing."
